Disaster Management Committee.

The Disaster Management Cell of the college is concerned with the organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies, in particular preparedness, response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters.

The disaster management cell therefore conducts awareness programmes, training and mock drill for the students and faculty to equip them to deal with disaster prevention. It offers guiding principles, priorities for action, and practical means for achieving disaster resilience for vulnerable communities.

The cell also aims at teaching disaster preparedness as a way of reducing the impact of disasters. Community-based preparedness and management is therefore a high priority in physical therapy practice management of the college. Lectures are also given regarding relief activities such as rescue, relocation, providing food and water, preventing disease and disability, providing temporary shelter and emergency health care.
